Challaborough Bay, Devon: First Response to Storm Damage
First on site after a storm tore into a Devon holiday park roof, and the only thing stopping total loss was getting it secured fast.
Andy was called out by SPV Special Projects to attend storm damage at a Parkdean Resorts holiday park at Challaborough Bay, Devon. He was the first roofing contractor on site.
Drawing on experience of severe storm and tornado damage from his years working in North America, Andy set up reinforcement guy lines to stop the rest of the roof structure being torn off completely while a full plan was put together, knowledge of extreme wind damage that most UK-trained roofers simply haven't had reason to build.
He then led the removal of the damaged roof section and covered the building to keep it weathertight, running the job with SPV's teams through to the waterproofing that followed.
Outcome
The roof structure was secured before further storm damage could take it completely, and the project continued through to a full waterproofing repair.
