Historically fixed with mortar bedding alone, they've been identified by NHBC as the single largest cause of roof-related insurance claims, because mortar cracks and loosens under exactly the thermal and structural movement a ridge experiences.

Our Process
Select Ridge Type
We confirm half-round or angle ridge to match your roof covering and specify dry-fix or mechanically-reinforced mortar fixing.
Fix the Ridge Batten
A ridge batten provides the mechanical fixing point along the apex.
Bed or Clip Tiles
Ridge tiles are bedded and mechanically fixed, or clipped in a full dry-fix system, along the full ridge line.
Finish & Weatherproof
End caps and junctions are finished to complete a weathertight ridge.
Under BS 5534:2014+A2:2018, mortar alone is no longer considered adequate to resist wind uplift at the ridge, a supplementary mechanical fixing is required alongside mortar, or a dry-fix system used instead.
