Our Process
Strip & Inspect
On a re-roof, the existing covering is stripped and the timber structure inspected and repaired as needed before anything new goes on.
Membrane & Batten
A breathable roofing membrane is fitted and battened to the correct gauge for your chosen tile or slate.
Fix Covering
Tiles or slates are fixed per the BS 5534 nailing pattern calculated for your exposure zone.
Ridge, Verge & Flashings
Dry-fix ridge and verge systems and lead flashings complete a fully compliant, weathertight roof.
All pitched roof coverings are fixed in accordance with BS 5534:2014+A2:2018, the code of practice covering wind-uplift resistance and mechanical fixing for slating and tiling.

Concrete tiles typically last 30–50 years, clay tiles 60–100 years, and natural slate 75–150 years, depending on material and installation quality.
Generally no for like-for-like replacement on a house, but conservation areas, listed buildings, and significant profile changes may require consent, worth checking at the design stage.
Steeper pitches shed water faster and tolerate a wider range of coverings; shallow pitches need specific BS 5534-approved products and tighter detailing to stay watertight.
