Hot Melt Roofing Repair

Hot melt rarely fails in the open field, when it does leak, it's almost always at a detail or where ballast has damaged the surface.

Because hot melt membrane is fully bonded and seamless, genuine failures in the open field of the roof are uncommon. When leaks do occur, they're most often at upstands, outlets or other detailing, or from physical damage where ballast, paving or foot traffic has disturbed the membrane.

Sherford Roofing repairs hot melt roofing across Plymouth and Devon, working through any ballast or paving to access and correctly re-weld the membrane where it's actually failed.

Our Process

Step 1

Locate the Fault

We identify the likely leak area, often at a detail or junction, before disturbing ballast or paving unnecessarily.

Step 2

Access the Membrane

Ballast, substrate or paving is carefully removed from the affected area.

Step 3

Repair the Membrane

The hot melt membrane is heated and re-worked to properly fuse the repair into the existing system.

Step 4

Reinstate

Ballast, substrate or paving is reinstated once the membrane repair is confirmed sound.
